This water locked site is rich in the history of Emsworth’s marine past. In the 19th century the former building was originally designed to help farm the famous oyster beds that lines the shore. Our design sensitively responds to the history of the building and the historic core of Emsworth Conservation Area by using traditional materials such as Red Clay Brickwork in English Bond, Pebble Flintwork, Oak Cladding and Heritage Red Clay Tiles, in conjunction with traditional oak framed detailing to ensure it sits harmoniously within its context.
The carefully designed layout provides framed views of Chichester Harbour AONB from the main living spaces and bedrooms, but also ensures privacy from the public promenade enclosing Emsworth Millpond.
