The upside down house was designed with the living areas on the first floor to provide spaces with spectacular views over the Solent and bedrooms to the ground floor with direct access to the garden.
The new build has been finished to a high standard, including a bespoke kitchen design. This features a micro cement worktop and built-in sink in the island, with Ted Todd chevron engineered wood flooring running up the inside. We also designed a statement staircase in the matching micro cement finish with oak timber alternate risers.

Exposed timber roof trusses are painted white internally and add to the light and open spatial character. The minimalistic internal feel allows for focus on the contemporary finishes and the views to the water, framed by Internorm thick & thin timber and aluminium framed windows and doors.
The family home has been designed to be as eco-friendly as possible, with sustainable materials such as Shou Sugi Ban charred, brushed and painted timber cladding. This low maintenance and durable material has been specified, along with zinc and dark brickwork, for the waterside location.
We also designed an outbuilding to match the main house, which has all been complemented with landscape design by Quercus.
