Our brief for Tarrant Street was to create a flexible space that could act as a standalone unit beyond the garden wall of an existing dwelling. A sheltered entrance route cuts through the building to provide access to two separate internal spaces or on to the main dwelling’s rear garden beyond. One of the internal spaces houses a small kitchenette and dining area, whilst the second space can be used as an expansive living or entertaining space.
The scheme’s main feature is the array of Crittall doors that allow users to permeate through the building when fully open. This flexibility has seen our Tarrant Street project adopt a number of roles, with the most recent being a publicly accessible art space during the Arundel Festival of the Arts.
