Northney - Hayling Island
Our client purchased this three storey dwelling in 2011 with a clear brief of a contemporary renovation with a series of extensions to enlarge the ground and first floor plans. We worked very closely with the client to fulfil this brief and planning permission was approved.
The materials chosen were kept to a minimum so as not to overcomplicate the elevations and to blend them into the dwelling’s setting. The original material on site was brick. The materials chosen also responded to the guidance given in ‘Northney and Tye – Village Design and Access statement’. Another factor the client had to consider when choosing appropriate materials was the corrosion and maintenance that may be required due to the exposed location of the site and the sea spray that may be present.
